Take Trust Away From Interior: The Arizona Republic calls on the creation of a new Indian trust agency -- one not in control of the Department of Interior.

Shameful treatment on trust: The Bangor (Maine) Daily News criticizes the Department of Interior for its "culture of condescension" towards Indian people.

Judicial overkill on Interior shutdown: "[U.S. District Judge Royce's Lamberth']s decision [on Internet access to Indian trust], which surely qualifies as one of the most egregious cases of judicial overkill in modern times, establishes a security standard that's likely to be impossible to meet: 100 percent hacker-free? Not as easy as it sounds. (If Microsoft has been unable to achieve it for its own software systems, what are the odds a bunch of Interior Department nerds can figure it out during this century or the next?)"
