The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is seeking to enter the telecommunications business and is asking the state Department of Public Utility Control for a permit to buy and sell telephone service to customers in the state.

The tribe will start off with local service and plans to add long distance, international, Internet, and other features in the future.
