FEBRUARY 19, 2001 A Pew Internet & American Life Project study released on Sunday reports that 56 percent of American adults went online last year. The study also says 16 million new users went online in the past six months. Some three-quarters of children ages 12 to 17 also had Internet access. Older and poor Americans still lagged behind the rest of the country however. The study was based a random telephone survey. Get the Report:
