Forty years of federal recognition and the Narragansett people are still fighting for what’s rightfully ours.

Brown University in Rhode Island has adopted a land acknowledgement following consultation with leaders and citizens of the Narragansett Tribe.

Outside of the Narragansett Tribe and Boston Marathon historians, “Tarzan” Brown has fallen into obscurity and rarely appears on anyone’s radar, including among much of Indian Country.
