A new PBS documentary called “The American Buffalo” chronicles the history of the buffalo – from its sacred connection to tribes to its almost complete demise.

After 20,000 miles and 115 stops across the country, a group of Native carvers and elders have finally arrived in the nation’s capital, bringing much-needed attention to sacred sites and tribal rights.

Traditional healers, who once played critical roles in governance and health care, are dwindling in number and influence, even as the deadly coronavirus impacts the Navajo Nation.
