Ex-Choctaw lobbyist changes tack

THURSDAY, MAY 9, 2002 The experience in the Bush administration must have soured him. Or maybe he was tired of the really big bucks. Either way, Mike Parker, the ousted chief of the Army Corps of Engineers, has returned to a former career in lobbying but not for big-ticket clients like tribes and the tobacco industry. He has joined Russ Reid Co. to represent mostly non-profit clients, Judy Sarasohn of The Washington Post reports today. Parker once was representing the Mississippi Band of Choctaws of Louisiana. The tribe's own law firm has hired Slade Gorton. Get the Story:
