Congress on Wednesday approved a Department of Interior spending bill that includes $2.3 million for a long-delayed Indian memorial at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Montana.

In 1991, Congress authorized the memorial to the Indian warriors who fought at the Battle of Little Bighorn. But no money was ever provided to construct it.

Once the bill is approved by President Bush, construction would take three to four months, said the superintendent of the battlefield.
