TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2002

An attorney representing a New Mexico arts dealer who sold eagle feathers and sacred artifacts to an undercover FBI agent has asked a federal judge to dismiss his case.

Joshua Baer was entrapped into selling the artifacts, according to his lawyer. He has pleaded innocent to selling sacred Hopi, Navajo, and Pueblo artifacts.

Baer's art gallery in Santa Fe was subsequently raided after he allegedly sold the items.
