The Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Atomic Safety and Licensing Board has delayed by several months a final decision on a high-level nuclear waste facility which would be built on the Skull Valley Goshute Reservation in Utah.

A decision had been scheduled for November but has been delayed until April 2002. The delay has opponents of the project excited it may lead to its denial but doesn't have the tribe or the eight private companies who plan to store radioactive waster there worried.
