A group of religious activists were arrested in Washington, DC, on Thursday as they protested oil and gas development in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The group held its protest outside the Department of Energy. A number of religious faiths were represented and the group heard a speech from Jonathon Solomon, chairman of the Gwich'in Steering Committee.

The Gwich'in Alaska Natives oppose drilling.
