FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2002

San Ildefonso Pueblo in New Mexico and the Department of Energy signed a memorandum of understanding this week to test the tribe's land for radioactive poisoning.

The tribe's land borders the Los Alamos National Laboratory, the birthplace of the atomic bomb. The tests will search for contamination in the soil, air and water.
