The Innu First Nation of Labrador reduced its land claim last year after the federal government threatened to cut off money to the band, CBC reports today.

The original claim was 24,000 square miles but scaled back to somewhere between 4,000 and 10,000 square miles after a federal negotiator objected. The money would be used to negotiate a settlement.
