Peabody denies Navajo 'conspiracy'

MARCH 20, 2001 A spokesman for the Peabody Group on Monday said there was no grand conspiracy to cheat the Navajo Nation and the Hopi Tribe of Arizona out of royalties from coal mined on their lands. Fredrick D. Palmer was reacting to a federal court judge's decision to reject Peabody's attempt to have the case against it and a California utility company thrown out of court. Get the Story:
