Supported by a bill introduced by Rep. Ed Pastor (D-Ariz.), the Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona is continuing its fight to gain American citizenship for all tribal members.

The bill would benefit members who live in Mexico and are supposed to be allowed free passage through the US border by showing tribal identification cards. US Border Patrol crackdowns have made it harder for them to cross, they say.

The bill would also benefit members born in the United States who don't have papers to prove citizenship.
