FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2002

Retiring Bureau of Indian Affairs official Sharon Blackwell was afraid someone would get hurt in the final weeks of the Clinton administration, according to an internal investigation made public this week.

Blackwell was also aware former official Michael Anderson signed documents after he left the BIA. Anderson recognized the Duwamish Tribe of Washington but apparently failed to sign the required paperwork before he stepped down on January 19, 2001.
