Testimony starts in Navajo murder case

TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2002

Opening arguments and testimony in the murder trial of a New Mexico accused of murdering a Navajo mother began on Monday.

Robert Fry and codefendant Leslie Engh are charged with kidnapping, attempted rape and stabbing Betty Lee to death in June 2000. Engh is testifying against Fry.

Fry and Engh are also facing charges for the death of a Navajo man.
