Towns complain about Gover again

TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 2002 Three Connecticut towns have written their Congressman to complain about the actions of former Assistant Secretary Kevin Gover. The towns said Gover overstepped his authority by issuing two preliminary findings of recognition for the Eastern Pequot Tribe and the Paucatuck Eastern Pequot Tribe. Gover in March 2000 made his ruling over the objections of subordinates who nonetheless defended their boss at a later meeting. The towns also claim Gover relied too heavily on the state's oversight of the two tribes. Get the Story:
