Notah Begay III, the 27-year-old Isleta Pueblo / Navajo golfer from New Mexico, has won yet another PGA tournament this past weekend.

Begay's win at the Greater Hartford Open in Connecticut is his second victory in a row on the PGA tour. Last weekend, he took home the top prize at the St. Jude classic in Memphis, Tennessee.

Begay ended the day of playing on Saturday in second place behind Mark Calcavecchia. On Sunday, he putted a 25-foot birdie on the final hole, beating Calcavecchia by just one stroke.

One-stroke victories have been the order of the day since beating two challengers last week by the same slim margin. Closing the event with 7-under-par 64, he also broke the PGA tournament record with a total of 20-under 260.

Still, there is one record Begay did not break on Sunday, although he came close. Having won four PGA tournaments in just ten months, Begay still stands behind former Stanford University teammate and longtime rival Tiger Woods, who won the same number in nine.

But Begay and Woods will soon stand side-by-side, as they face off once again next summer at the 101st US Open to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Woods won the 100th Open in Pebble Beach, California in June.

Last week's victory has already qualified Begay for the event. Later this month, he'll try to qualify for the British Open at St. Andrews, Scotland.

For Sunday's win, Begay will take home $504,000. With over $1 million in winnings after 17 events, Begay is ranked 12th on the PGA Tour's Top Money Leaders.
