The Oneida Nation of New York has purchased two properties in Verona totalling 79 acres.

A 41-acre marina was purchased for $4.4 million and a 38-acre commercial property was bought for $1.1 million.

The tribe has been repurchasing land within its land-claim territory. In a significant victory for the tribe, a federal judge in June ruled that the land automatically becomes Indian Country.
