AUGUST 22, 2000 The New York Temporary State Commission on Lobbying has ruled that several anti-Indian gaming newspaper, television, and radio ads are considered lobbying. The ads were run by the Institute for Law and Society, depicting the tribe as criminals. The Institute also wrote letters stating the same and urged Governor Pataki not to negotiate a compact with them for their off-reservation casino planned in Monticello, the Catskills. The Institute may be forced to disclose who funded the ads. Some believe Donald Trump is connected with them. Get the Story:
