Conn. casinos take more in slot money

TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2002 Two tribally-owned casinos in Connecticut reported an increase in slot machine revenue last month. According to state-released figures, Foxwoods Resort Casino took in $60 million, a 15.5 increase from December 2000. Foxwoods is owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. The Mohegan Sun Casino took in $58.5 million, a 36.5 increase. The casino is owned by the Mohegan Tribe. Per their gaming compacts, the tribes turn over 25 percent of revenue to the state.
