Although the Narragansett Tribe faces a tough battle to open a casino in Rhode Island, its $500 million facility could draw visitors away from Connecticut's two tribal casinos.

If the casino is built, it might encourage gamblers from Massachusetts to stop there instead of making the trip to Connecticut. According to The New London Day, Foxwoods Resort Casino, owned by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, gets 48 percent of its customers from Massachusetts.

The casino owned by the Mohegan Tribe, on the other hand, gets about 23 percent from the state.
