The Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation of Kansas is objecting to proposals that would expand gaming in the state.

State lawmakers are considering allowing slot machines at race tracks as a means of relieving a budget crunch. But tribal officials and opponents say this will only take revenue away from tribes that need the money.
