Group formed to fight Maine casinos

A group of residents in Maine has formed Casinos No! to oppose a proposed tribal casino in the southern part of the state.

The Penobscot Nation and the Passamaquoddy Tribe want to open a $500 million in Kittery. But they withdrew a proposed bill this week, saying they didn't think they had enough time to get it passed.

The delay gives the anti-casino group time to gather opposition for the next legislative session, when the tribes will push development again.
