MONDAY, APRIL 8, 2002

The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut on Friday said it fired Arthur Andersen as its auditor.

The decision was based on the potential for the firm to lose its business license in Connecticut. State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal is investigating the company, which has been indicted for allegedly shredding documents related to Enron.

The tribe was using Andersen for its casino and tribal operations. PricewaterhouseCoopers is the replacement.
