The state of New York has asked the state Supreme Court to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Donald Trump and anti-casino groups.

The state contends the challengers have changed their arguments. First, they wanted the Legislature to approve compacts with tribes, a point they won, but now they want most of the new gaming banned.

The Legislature has approved six new casinos in the state, three of which are to be located in the Catskills. That was the biggest hurdle, writes Steve Israel in his "Casino Confidential" column.
