FRIDAY, APRIL 12, 2002

The state of Kansas continues to assert jurisdiction over an inter-tribal commerce deal.

The state says the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska owes $1.25 million in taxes for distributing gasoline to three Kansas tribes. Two Winnebago-owned tankers were seized this week.

Winnebago officials say they are willing to take the dispute to court.
