Winona LaDuke spoke at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks on Monday.

LaDuke talked about how raising her children is similar to her political activism. She dismissed the idea that her Green Party ticket ruined Al Gore's chances for winning the 2000 election, saying Gore had "his own problems"

LaDuke also talked about oil and gas development in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. She stressed that the Gwich'in people "have a right to say no."

LaDuke was paid $5,000 to speak at the event.
