FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 2002

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are vowing repercussions for the firing of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chief Mike Parker.

With statements like "he was one of us" to describing the White House budget office as an "axis of evil," members of Congress blasted Parker's ouster and praised his courage. Parker had criticized budget cuts at his agency and was fired as a result.
