TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2002 The Olympic torch entered Utah on Monday and received a traditional welcome from a Ute tribal member Frank Arrowchis. Arrowchis performed a short blessing ceremony early yesterday morning at the Delicate Arch. He then handed it to his 16-year-old granddaughter, Stephanie LaRee Spann. After Spann, Forrest Cuch, director of the state Division of Indian Affairs, took it for a run. Olympic legend and Oglala Lakota athlete Billy Mills was present at another ceremony later in the day at Navajo Tribal Park. He lit a ceremonial caldron. The Winter 2002 Olympics start in Salt Lake City on Friday. The identity of the final torch-carrier is a secret. Get the Story:
