Native businessman to go on Oprah

FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2002 No foolin. Dave Anderson, of Famous Dave's barbecue restaurant fame, will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show to receive a $25,000 grant from Oprah's Angel Network. Anderson will receive the grant on the April 1 episode of the show for his LifeSkills Center for Leadership, which helps Native youth with leadership training.. Anderson is Choctaw and Chippewa and his business is based in Minnesota. Winfrey hosted a show in February that focused on Native issues. She gave $20,000 to a man who builds homes on reservations and recognized the work of four Crow girls who came up with an innovative way of building a study hall on the Crow Reservation in Montana.
