In an editorial today, The Farmington Daily-Times says New Mexico authorities should continue prosecuting a man convicted of murdering a Navajo woman for other crimes, including the death of a Navajo man.

The paper says Robert Ray Fry needs to be kept locked up pending resolution of the other cases rather than holding back so he can appeal his death sentence. "Since that process can take many years, the sensible thing to do is continue with the prosecution of Fry in the other cases," the paper writes.

Fry was convicted last month of murdering Betty Lee, a Navajo mother of five. He faces charges of killing Donald Tsosie, a Navajo man.
