The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department released a COVID-19 Tribal Response Plan on April 8, 2020.

The plan explains the steps the state is taking to address coronavirus impacts among the 22 Pueblos and tribes with homelands in New Mexico. It describes how the state will coordinate with tribes and with other partners, including the Indian Health Service, a federal agency.

“This plan provides strategies on quarantine, containment and surge preparation,” Secretary of Indian Affairs Lynn Trujillo wrote in a letter to tribal leaders.
