The Indian Health Service has updated its coronavirus testing data, showing results as of 11:59 pm Eastern on May 17, 2020.

According to the data, 75,462 tests have been administered within the system. Of those, 7,244 have returned positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That represents a 2.7 percent increase from the 7,053 cases previously reported.

Overall, testing increased by 1.4 percent between May 16 and May 17, the data shows. The low rates are indicative of a results that come in during weekends.

The data, however, is incomplete. While 100 percent of facilities run directly by the IHS are reporting data, only 33 percent of tribally managed facilities and 44 percent of urban Indian organizations are doing the same, the agency has told Indianz.Com.
