Oklahoma City Indian Clinic receives grant funding from Telligen Community Initiative

Funding is designed to initiate and support innovative health-related projects designed to improve health, social well-being and educational attainment

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC), a nonprofit clinic providing health and wellness services to American Indians in central Oklahoma, received a $50,000 grant from Telligen Community Initiative (TCI) to help support lean initiatives.

TCI works to support projects in the priority funding areas of health innovation, health care workforce development and access to care for the underserved. Since 2014, TCI has awarded more than $10.3 million to 251 organizations and projects in Iowa, Illinois, Oklahoma and Colorado.

“These funds serve to strengthen our operational efficiency and create partnerships within Oklahoma Native American health clinics to help provide improved health care,” Carla High said, OKCIC’s Director of Continuous Improvement. “The idea is to maximize the efficiency of all our clinics by working as a coalition and sharing processes.”

OKCIC was one of only 15 grants selected for TCI’s 2020 Oklahoma and Colorado-based funding cycle, which awarded a total of $640,685 in grants to nonprofit organizations in these states ($325,000 to Oklahoma and $315,685 to Colorado).
