COVID-19 in Indian Country
The Seneca Nation is mourning the loss of five community members to COVID-19. Three of them are from the same family of Seneca matriarchs.

Diane Kennedy, a former employee of the Bureau of Indian Affairs who went home to the Seneca Nation to serve her people, passed away at the age of 71 due to COVID-19.

Norma Kennedy, a beloved elder from the Seneca Nation, passed away due to COVID-19. She was 92 years old.

In an update on April 28, 2020, Seneca Nation President Rickey L. Armstrong Sr. announced 'sad news' to his people: the first COVID-19 death of a community member.

Native Pride has expanded truck driver giveaways of immune-boosting juices to first responders on the Seneca Nation.
