Sun basketball players not allowed to gamble
Friday, June 13, 2003

Players for the Connecticut Sun, the WNBA team owned by the Mohegan Tribe, cannot gamble at the tribe's casino because they are considered casino employees.

The team is the first in the league to be owned independently and the first to be owned by a tribe. Almost all of the home games are played at the tribe's arena, which is located on the reservation.

Sports betting is not permitted at the casino.
