Navajo Nation helping boy find bone marrow donors

The Navajo Nation is trying to help find bone marrow donors for a 2-year-old Navajo boy with a rare blood disease. Native American and mixed-Native donors are sought for Dakota Kwiecinski. Dakota has hemophalgocytic lymphohistiocytosis and is undergoing chemotherapy and steroids while he waits for a transplant. Nationally, few Native Americans are marrow donors, but more and more Natives need transplants. The National Marrow Donor Program is trying to recruit more American Indians and Alaska Natives.
