Chief of First Nations organization faces call to resign from post

Guy Lonechild is facing pressure to step down as chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations after pleading guilty to a drunken driving charge.

Lonechild was elected chief in October 2009. He said he disclosed the charges but some tribal leaders said he kept the information from them and they are asking him to step down.

"He was not pleased and he wanted to discuss with us the details and everything else but at this point it's not details that count," FSIN Senator Roland Crowe told CBC News.

Lonechild will be sentenced March 23.
