Company promotes Native hiring record
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2002 The Alyeska Pipeline Service Company has increased Alaska Native employment from 5 percent ten years ago to 18 percent, the company president said at the Alaska Federation of Natives on Thursday. The company operates the trans-Alaska oil pipeline. Federal contracts require Native employment but provide no recourse if there aren't hires. The pipeline's rights-of-way are being extended under a federal plan. Alaska Natives have raised concerns. Get the Story:
