Shawnee tribe delays housing project
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2002 The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma has delayed plans to build an assisted living center as it moves forward with a casino. The center was to be built on the same 35-acre parcel of trust land that is being used for the casino. The tribe wanted to use part of a $2.6 million HUD grant to finance an infrastructure project.
