Sioux tribal member seeks another nod

THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2002

Former South Dakota gubernatorial candidate Ron Volesky plans to seek the Democratic nomination for state attorney general.

Volesky is a state lawmaker and a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. He lost the party primary for governor last week.

The AG post is being vacated by Mark Barnett, a Republican who also was running for governor but lost in his party's primary.
