Okla. tribe sues to regain rights in N.Y.

THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 2003

The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma sued three governments in New York to affirm its rights to land in New York.

The tribe wants to build a bingo hall on 229 acres of land it purchased. But local leaders and Gov. George Pataki (R) say the tribe can't regain rights in the state.
