Other Norton view attacked
JANUARY 11, 2001 Secretary of Interior nominee Gale Norton once suggested property owners have a "right to pollute" at a 1989 symposium and the comments have her opponents worried. Like the 1996 speech which other environmental groups have raised questions about, Norton's remarks came before the Independence Institute, a conservative Colorado thinktank.
