Wyo. won't accept casino gaming

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2002

Wyoming Governor Jim Geringer rejected a federal mediator's recommendation to allow casino gaming on the Wind River Reservation.

The state said it won't negotiate a compact with the Northern Arapaho Tribe. Secretary of Interior Gale Norton will now decide how gaming will take place.
