Bill to expand nuclear facility advances
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2003
A Minnesota House committee approved a bill to expand nuclear waste storage at a facility next to the Prairie Island Indian Community.
The tribe opposes the presence of the facility but recently settled with Xcel Energy, the operators. The tribe will receive upwards of $50 million during the duration of the nuclear plant.
