Tohono O'odham candidates debate positions

Tohono O'odham Nation chairman Edward Manuel could face a run for his money in Saturday's election.

Manuel and vice-chairman Henry A. Ramon have run the tribe for eight years. But they lost to challenger Vivian Juan-Saunders and her running mate, Ned Norris Jr.

Manuel, 56, and Ramon, 68, are described as more experienced in tribal politics. Juan-Saunders, 43, and Norris, 43, have more experience off the reservation.
