At Pine Ridge, Steele defeats Means

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2002

Voters on the Pine Ridge Reservation of South Dakota went to the polls on Tuesday to choose a new set of leaders.

According to the Associated Press, incumbent President John Yellow Bird Steele defeated challenger Russell Means. Steele led by about 500 votes.
