The Middletown, Rhode Island, town council passed a resolution opposed to any expansion of gaming in the state.
The resolution criticizes a proposal in the State Legislature to put a casino vote before voters this November. The Narragansett Tribe needs state approval for any gaming.
Efforts to put the question on the ballot have failed in recent years.
