The world's largest casino company has fired a lobbyist for giving checks to Minnesota lawmakers considering an expansion of gaming in the state.
Envelopes containing seven checks were sent to the lawmakers. Two of the checks came from two senior Caesars Entertainment executives and three from a group associated with Caesars in Indiana, The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Caesars, formerly known as Park Place, is proposing to a build a casino in the Mall of America in the Twin Cities. The company is working with several tribes on casinos, most notably the St. Regis Mohawk of New York.
